1 - Jeni Fleming Acoustic Trio |
|
 |
Home Grown Jazz Topped
with Soulful Vocals
Stretching the jazz palette into the softness of acoustic
folk and the accessible warmth of pop, Bozeman-based Jeni
Fleming's voice carries melody with unusual resonance; she knows
how to draw out the sensuality within a line, how to stretch
notes like pulling taffy. Backed by the supple voice of guitar,
light strings, and a humming bass, Jeni's sweet delivery, makes
classical jazz tunes and originals as colorful and expressive as
the seasons. The Jeni Fleming Acoustic Trio has traveled
extensively throughout the U. S. in the past several years,
bringing their own brand of jazz to performing centers.

15 - the Seldom Scene |
|
 |
A Traditional Blend of
Bluegrass and Folk
Since its inception in 1971, the five members of the Seldom
Scene have thrived on playing bluegrass a little differently
than everyone else. If other bands used a fiddler, they used a
Dobro; if others relied on old standards, the Seldom Scene
played rock classics like J.J. Cale's After Midnight. Through
skilled musicianship and an urban approach to bluegrass, the
Seldom Scene has become one of the most influential – if not the
most influential – bluegrass band of the last 30 years. After
two previous Grammy nominations and still in the forefront,
their latest album SCENEchronized has been nominated for a 2008
Grammy.

darlings of North American roots music arena have appeared on

internationally. “Sharp and sensitive songs with attitude,” is
